The New York Rangers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Final.
The Rangers took an early lead and held on to grab a 6-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 7. Both teams had won all of their home games ahead of the do-or-die matchup but the Rangers found the final dagger with the first road win of the series.
The Rangers will now try to stop the Tampa Bay Lightning in their tracks as they try to pull the first Stanley Cup three-peat since 1982.
