Ravens’ Lamar Jackson returns just in time, leads comeback vs. Browns

Lamar Jackson was dominating the Cleveland Browns, looking like his reigning MVP self, until he was forced out of the game with cramps.

Then he returned — at just the right moment — to give the Baltimore Ravens the lead in an eventual victory in a 47-42 win on Monday night.

Jackson rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries in the first three quarters, but in the fourth he made his mark through the air. After missing nearly two Baltimore possessions with cramps, he returned on a 4th and 5 to complete a go-ahead touchdown pass to Marquise Brown.

Cleveland tied the game on its ensuing possession, with 1:04 remaining. But Jackson had some magic left. Working the ball down the field with quick passing plays, he put the Ravens in field goal range — and future Hall of Famer Justin Tucker did the rest, drilling a 55-yarder with two seconds remaining for the win (Baltimore added a safety on the game’s final play).

The Ravens (8-5) move into playoff position, while the Browns (9-4) remain in the post-season picture as well.
