Report: Chargers, Justin Herbert agree to historic five-year, $262.5M contract

The Los Angeles Chargers are reportedly making Justin Herbert one of the highest-paid players in NFL history.

According to multiple reports, Herbert and the Chargers have agreed to a five-year, $262.5-million contract extension.

The contract is valued slightly higher than the five-year contracts Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson signed earlier this off-season.

Herbert, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie deal but has already emerged as one of the more exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL. In 49 starts over his three-year career, Herbert has collected 14,089 passing yards and 94 touchdown passes.
