Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has agreed to terms on a four-year, $200-million deal with the club, making him the highest paid player in NFL history, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Rapoport says $153 million is guaranteed for the 38-year-old Rodgers.
Rapoport also reports the two-time reigning NFL MVP considered signing with the Denver Broncos as well as retirement.
The Packers were eliminated in the divisional round of this year’s playoffs, falling 13-10 to the San Francisco 49ers.
The loss ended a season in which Rodgers was dogged by controversy over his COVID-19 vaccine status.
While he said he was “immunized” in training camp, it was later learned Rodgers was not vaccinated when he contracted COVID-19.
Rodgers is a four-time MVP and 10-time Pro Bowler.
