The Philadelphia Phillies are keeping one of baseball’s top run producers.
Kyle Schwarber is finalizing a five-year, $150-million deal to return to the Phillies, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday
The 32-year-old designated hitter is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he finished second in NL MVP voting after leading the senior circuit with 56 home runs and 132 RBIs.
Schwarber has emerged as one of MLB’s preeminent power threats since signing with the Phillies ahead of the 2022 season.
Over his first four seasons in Philly, the three-time all-star tied for second among all hitters in homers, trailing just Aaron Judge and tying Shohei Ohtani.
The now 11–year MLB veteran was one of the core pieces that helped the Phillies turn into a consistent contender. In each year with Schwarber in the lineup, Philadelphia advanced to the post-season.
Schwarber has proven to be a consistent difference-maker on playoff teams, as he has played into October in every season of his career except one. Selected in the first round of the 2014 draft by the Cubs, Schwarber helped end Chicago’s 108-year World Series drought when the club won the title in 2016.
In 73 career playoff games, Schwarber owns a .907 OPS and 23 round-trippers.
