The Toronto Blue Jays have signed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi to a three-year, $36-million contract, according to multiple reports.
Kikuchi, 30, posted a 7-9 record with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.318 WHIP in 157 innings with the Seattle Mariners last season.
The signing comes less than 24 hours after the Blue Jays signed left-hander Andrew Vasquez to a major-league deal to bolster their pitching depth.
Kikuchi is the fourth addition the Blue Jays have made to their pitching staff this off-season. Before the lockout, the team signed reliever Yimi Garcia to a two-year, $11-million contract and right-handed starter Kevin Gausman to a five-year, $110-million deal.
