Sacré Bleu! Zara Just Dropped the Coolest French Capsule Collection

Bonjour, mes amies. Today is a good day because not only do we have Zara news, we have a double whammy of French style news too. Two incredible fashion forces have come together to give us the ultimate chic collaboration: Charlotte Gainsbourg’s denim collection for Zara. You read that right, the cool offspring of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg has designed a capsule range for the high-street mega brand, and we think you’re going to love it.

The actress and singer has a long history of wearing denim and double denim in particular, often styling a classic true blue denim shirt with a pair of blue jeans, so she knows what she’s talking about when it comes to this material. On the matter of the new line, Gainsbourg said: “I have always wanted to have a tiny collection of what I wear day-to-day. It is very straightforward and it is exactly what I put on.”

Savvy to what people really want, Gainsbourg and Zara haven’t just delivered on classic jeans, which include straight-leg blues and cigarette silhouettes, but also the complete Gainsbourg look. This means the range also has bralettes, black tees (short- and long-sleeved) as well as a long black blazer and a corduroy trench coat, all of which helps you to wear denim like a French woman. C’est parfait, non?

Below, you’ll see Gainsbourg wearing her classic double denim look, how she’s styled the Zara pieces to give you inspiration, then you can shop the whole collection. So, there you have it folks. This is truly what one French woman loves when it comes to her denim.

Style Notes: At the Cannes Film Festival this summer, Gainsbourg opted for a super cool denim look. Try belting your denim shirt à la Gainsbourg over a pair of straight-leg blue jeans.

Style Notes: Add a touch of polish by layering a blazer over your double denim look. Unbutton your shirt to expose a tee, vest or even chic bra for a truly French vibe.
