- Shiffrin’s previous highest total was $958,000 in 2018-19
- Odermatt beat previous men’s record of $724,000
Mikaela Shiffrin has earned another piece of World Cup history, topping the season-ending race prize money list with a record $1.04m in prize money.
Shiffrin’s win in a giant slalom on Sunday was her 13th World Cup victory since October and lifted her total prize money above the $1m mark. That set the all-time Alpine World Cup record and moved her earnings above Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt, whose giant slalom win on Saturday in his last race of the season set a men’s record with $1.017m
