Spain defeated Germany 2-1 in extra time on Friday to advance to the Euro 2024 semifinals.
Spain’s Mikel Merino netted the match winner in the 119th minute with a gorgeous header.
Dani Olmo got Spain on the board in the 51st minute with a strike just inside the box off a setup from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal.
Olmo entered the match in the eighth minute after teammate Pedri took a slide tackle from Germany’s Toni Kroos and exited. Kroos was not booked for the foul.
With Germany on the ropes late in regulation time, Florian Wirtz tied up the match in the 89th minute.
Spain will play either Portugal or France in the semifinals.
