There’s nothing the fashion set love more than a supremely extra party dress, and while The Vampire’s Wife has held the top spot for a few years now, we have a feeling that new entry Taller Marmo might just be about to steal the spotlight. Named after the Spanish word Taller, meaning workshop or studio, and Marmo, the Italian word for marble, the Milan-based label was founded in 2013 by designers Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea. With its distinctively nostalgic spirit, Taller Marmo specialises in luxurious eveningwear, specifically kaftan silhouettes that hark back to pieces worn by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren in the 1960s and ’70s.
While each dress has its own unique aesthetic—from jewelled tones and monochrome neutrals, to both fringed and feathered trims—they all boast a loose, flowing fit that drapes beautifully on the body. Spotted on the likes of Kylie Minogue and Pixie Lott, alongside plenty of influencers and fashion editors, Taller Marmo is fast become the go-to luxury brand for statement-making party looks. So no, we might not know what is happening with our New Year’s Eve plans, but in the meantime we’ll just fantasise about lounging on the sofa, martini in hand, resplendent in one of Taller Marmo’s fantasty gowns.
