These 17 Cream Coats Are the Very Definition of Chic

When it comes to coats, I either opt for a tailored longline style or a trench in either beige, navy or tan. Some may say boring, I say classic. But when it comes to winter coats this year, I’ve branched out and got my first quilted puffer with checked sleeves from Baum Und Pferdgarten. Wild I know. And if I’m honest, my head has also been swayed by one for the most popular coats for women right now: cream coats.

I’ve spotted so many of my fellow fashion editors and influencers alike sporting this particular colour. And while it’s an on-the-go coffee nightmare, I can’t stop thinking about how effortless they look with every outfit. Sure, you’ll need to splash out on dry cleaning more regularly than usual, but to look this good, I believe it’s worth every penny.

All of the people I’ve seen wearing the coat in question have kept to this equation: cream + longline + oversized. And the likes of Cos, & Other Stories and The Row all have this style covered, but I’ve also seen faux fur, teddy, shearling and raincoats all in the cappuccino froth hue. So, on my hunt for the perfect cream coat, these are 17 I think everyone will be wearing for winters to come.

Style Notes: One of my favourite Insta accounts for minimalist looks, Jessica nails it with this monochrome ensemble. Rule to follow: If in doubt, stick to basics.

Style Notes: Keeping the cream coat centre of attention with a simple jeans and boots combo. Nnenna knows a bright bag can instantly lift any outfit.

Style Notes: Yes, yes and hell yes to layering a cream coat over a cream jumper with another cream cable knit around the shoulders. Tonal never fails when it comes to neutrals.

Style Notes: Another colour I’m loving this year is orange, and Karina shows how to intertwine the two. This palette with light wash jeans will work for spring, too.

Next up, 12 coat and boots outfits that are anything but boring
