These 28 Expensive-Looking COS Items Could Easily Pass as Designer

Trust me—I’m an expert at finding expensive-looking items at COS.

There’s no denying that COS is thriving this season. It’s arguably the prime contender on the British high street for premium, designer-like pieces, making it a worthy brand to choose when parting with your hard-earned cash. You merely have to scroll through Instagram to see this year’s hero buy on influencers from London to Lisbon. The famed waistcoat-trouser pairing looks every bit as chic as its designer counterparts, and on close inspection, the quality surpasses all expectations.

This year, the once-coined minimalist brand has taken the fashion world by storm with a fusion of saturated hues weft into its typically monochromatic stream. Even more impressive are COS’s many expensive-looking pieces. When it comes to well-considered designs, it’s all in the detail, and COS has gained a reputation for exquisite quality that’s on par with high-end designers.

Its clothing is dateless, seams are immaculate, and designs are well considered—like the sewn-in waistband adjusters, pintuck details and fully lined garments—all of which allude to luxury. COS doesn’t scrimp on materials, either, which is often the discrepancy between high-street and high-end pieces. A high proportion of the materials are natural, including organic cotton and lyocell, which are long-wearing, sustainable fibres.

The same sentiment extends to the accessories, which often sell out promptly. Its woven and crossbody bags are reminiscent of designer handbags on the market and have a pinch of the brand’s distinguishable Scandi essence. Below, I’ve curated an edit of the most expensive-looking COS items on offer this season. Best of all, they’re not going to break the bank.

This balloon sleeve is reminiscent of high-end designer styles this season.

Crisp apple green with a dainty scoop neck.

A sweeping Grecian-style maxi.

The dreamiest candy pink and darling bow sleeves!

The pintucked midi is all the detail you need.

A typical ’90s-style slip dress with a quadrate neckline.

Ruched sleeves elevate this shirt dress.

Special summer details in the most vibrant magenta pink.

A-line dresses always look effortless paired with sandals.

The fitted bustier lends this style to both day and evening wear.

This colour pairs wonderfully with brown.

A sleek take on the cut-out with a bared décolletage.

Knitted dresses remain in my wardrobe throughout the seasons, and this one looks extra cosy.

So good it comes in two colourways.

The concealed buttons make this style look extra polished.

Pair with a white linen maxi skirt and fisherman sandals for a play on girly glam and androgyny.

A thick knit with rounded shoulders for when it’s too chilly to go sans sleeves.

Khaki is as timeless as beige-toned trousers.

The composition makes this the summer blazer of dreams.

The most gorgeous pleating, material and sweeping style.

An oversized silhouette is magic with strappy sandals.

White jeans look great styled with contrasting mules.

Tuck tops in to show off the asymmetric waistband.

The kind of denim that—dare I say it—looks comfortable.

Denim midi skirts are fast becoming popular this summer.

Scandi minimalism at its finest.

Crossbody bags are everywhere this year, and this colour is truly special.

A forever bag in design and quality. It’ll only get better with age.
