Approximately 10 minutes after it was announced about the lockdown back in November, I started a hunt for a coat that could actually double as a duvet. If my life is going to be al fresco, I want to be cocooned in as much padding as possible. After a week of searching, I settled on an oversize puffer from Arket that is made from recycled down and is quite possibly the warmest thing I’ve ever put on my body.
In my hunt, however, I’ve now looked at every puffer coat on the internet, so I am sharing with you my rather extensive shortlist. If you have a higher budget, Moncler, Max Mara, and Prada are the clear front runners, and unsurprisingly, I’ve found that that Scandi brands really excel when it comes to coats that could take on the Arctic (or an outside dinner in December). Acne Studios, Arket, & Other Stories, Stand Studio, Holzweiler, and Ganni all have amazing coats that are practical as well as stylish.
