The return of the sun this week has prompted a wardrobe switchover for many, with puffer coats and bulky knitwear retired for another year, and the dusting off of our summer pieces. Nothing says summer like a pair of sunglasses and there is one silhouette that is proving particularly popular of late—square and rectangular frames. Gucci has become a moniker for maximalist styling, and so it is not surprising that this is the brand leading this trend for angular, rainbow sunnies.
The house’s rectangular and square frame sunglasses, with a statement interlocking double G logo on each arm is rapidly becoming a mainstay on my Instagram feed, and they are so popular I think they are officially the sunglasses of 2021. For a more classic take, follow Lizzo’s lead and opt for the black pair with quilted leather arms. However if you want something a little punchier, I love the white version which is £255 and the oversized mint green pair.
