‘They disappeared my hair’ – Trump

The US president has bemoaned a TIME magazine cover photo celebrating his role in the Gaza ceasefire deal

US President Donald Trump has taken issue with TIME magazine’s latest cover image accompanying a story lauding his role in securing a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The magazine’s Monday edition described the Gaza truce as Trump’s “triumph,” featuring a low-angle portrait of him. While acknowledging that the story itself was “relatively good,” Trump blasted the image on Truth Social early on Tuesday, stating it “may be the Worst of All Time.”

“They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!” he wrote.

Trump has frequently accused American media outlets of bias, arguing that most coverage unfairly emphasizes criticism of his presidency.

The ceasefire agreement, endorsed at an international conference in Egypt on Monday, was designed to halt hostilities triggered by the October 6, 2023 Hamas incursion into southern Israel.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that his foreign policy record since returning to office in January merits a Nobel Peace Prize. This year’s award, however, went to Venezuelan opposition politician Maria Corina Machado.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described Trump’s peace initiatives as genuine and undeniable, expressing hope that Washington’s mediation efforts could eventually help resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Moscow maintains that Kiev’s hardline stance, reinforced by European NATO states, remains the main obstacle to any settlement.
