Of all the dress brands the Duchess of Cambridge could have chosen to wear in her first official joint portrait alongside Prince William, it was celebrity favourite The Vampire’s Wife that just received the ultimate seal of approval. After all, the emerald green Falconetti dress and her chic shoe pairing (Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps, no less) will now go down in history. It’s a particularly fashion forward choice for Kate, but not one that comes as a huge surprise since the Duchess has turned to the British designer label a number of times for previous appearances, and looked stunning every time.
Seen everywhere from across Instagram to award-season after-parties, the universally flattering dress has become somewhat of an icon (if it wasn’t already, it certainly is now). With a simple round neck, nipped-in waist, midi-length skirt and elbow-length sleeves adorned with frilly cuffs—it’s little wonder the style, along with the brand’s other designs, remain the number one choice for those in the spotlight.
The brand first began gaining momentum back in 2017 when the likes of Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley, as well as a legion of high-profile influencers, all started wearing the brand’s shorter Festival style and the Falconetti on repeat.
Fast-forward to 2019 at the Royal wedding, and the brand went supernova. Not one, not two, but three of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s guests opted for the brand’s frocks, putting them firmly on the global fashion stage.
The Vampire’s Wife is surely set for even greater heights after this recent endorsement—and its illustrious fan club is only growing by the day. Daisy Edgar-Jones, Florence Welch, Maya Rudolph, and Holly Willoughby have all been spotted in the brand recently as well.
