We’ve all been there: It’s 7 a.m. on a Monday morning and the autumnal chill is starting to creep in, which makes leaving your bed that little bit more difficult. All you want to do at this point is roll to your desk (whether it’s at home or in the office) cocooned in your duvet, slipper-clad and clutching a mug of tea. Sadly, this is never really going to be a socially acceptable way to attend a Zoom meeting, but I am happy to tell you that one of this season’s biggest coat trends is not a million miles away from this dream scenario.
The clue is in the name: The duvet coat (also known as quilted, padded or puffer) is essentially the sartorial equivalent to a duvet day. These babies can be chucked over any outfit and you’ll instantly feel toasty warm, which is great news for those of us that hate having to lug around a million layers during the coldest months of the year.
