Simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming, it’s little wonder the television adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People has captured the attention of people the world over. While the complicated relationship between the book’s protagonists Marianne and Connell may be a lot to wrap your head around, there are a few aspects of the show that are much more straightforward. Namely, the fashion.
Whether it be Connell’s chain (which has gained a cult-like following of adoring fans) or Marianne’s university attire, there’s no denying that the costumes felt hyper-realistic for young adults in the late noughties. And while we can’t honestly say we’d re-create all of Marianne’s Normal People looks, there is one particular part of the show where her personal style really shines.
