Canadian Mackenzie Hughes can make history on Sunday.
Thanks to an impressive 3-under 68 in the third round on Saturday, which included an incredible 60-foot eagle putt on No. 13, the Dundas, Ont., native enters the final round of the 2021 U.S. Open in a three-way tie for the lead at 5-under.
If Hughes can pull out the victory at Torrey Pines, the 30-year-old would become the first Canadian-born U.S. Open champion and the first Canadian to capture a men’s major championship since Mike Weir’s iconic Masters victory in 2003.
Follow along throughout Hughes’s round on Sunday to see if Hughes can make history.
