Ilia Malinin landed a quadruple axel jump on his way to taking the short-program lead at the figure skating Grand Prix Finals on Thursday.
The United States skater, who was the first to land the four-and-a-half revolution jump in competition last year, also completed a quad lutz-triple toeloop combination and a triple axel to set a score of 106.90 points.
