President Joe Biden has ordered the US military to strike two facilities in eastern Syria
US forces launched multiple airstrikes on armed groups in Syria on Thursday, the Pentagon said, claiming the operation was a response to recent attacks by groups allegedly “affiliated” with Iran.
“These narrowly tailored strikes in self-defense were intended solely to protect and defend US personnel in Iraq and Syria,” Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin claimed in a statement released on Thursday night.
