Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme is set to speak to the media Sunday after missing Game 3 of his club’s third-round playoff series on Friday due to a positive COVID-19 test result.
After initially being sent home to isolate following an irregularity in his early morning COVID test, Ducharme’s positive was result was confirmed by further testing. Montreal went on to win Game 3 in overtime, taking a 2-1 series lead.
On Saturday, Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston reported that Ducharme will need to isolate for 14 days before he’s eligible to rejoin his team following his positive test result. Montreal’s current series would run six more days at most, if stretched to seven games.
