I love a good bit of minimalism in the summer . Don’t get me wrong. I’m not averse to bright colours, but there’s something so chic about wearing muted tones in the heat. This year, as I won’t be heading overseas, I want to pretend I’ll be on the beaches of Ibiza or the Cote d’Azur, and H&M’s latest summer collection is going to help me do just that. The sun seems to be hanging around (I’m just as surprised as anyone) so light layers and floaty dresses are needed to fill the gaps in my summer wardrobe. Of course, I’ve found a selection of pieces that can be worn all year round if you layer them right, and some great staple pieces that you’ll find me in whatever the weather.
But I’m not a total lunatic, so I’m also eyeing up the slub-knit tops and the chic tailored blazers because as André 3000 says, “You can plan a pretty picnic, but you can’t predict the weather.” For anyone who’s lost with their summer wardrobe, I also want to direct you to the T-shirt dress, which is one of the biggest surprise dress trends of the season and the easiest way to update your wardrobe right now. Keep scrolling for our edit of H&M’s latest drop.
