When People Ask Me Which Perfume I'm Wearing, It's Always This Brand

I love a trending perfume as much as the next person. From Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 to Le Labo’s Santal 33, there’s no denying that these fragrances are popular for a reason. That being said, there’s something so fun about discovering a more under-the-radar perfume brand, especially when people come up to you to ask you what fragrance you are wearing. If there’s one slightly lesser known brand that always earns me compliments, it’s Floral Street. If you’re yet to try any of Floral Street’s fragrances, then I highly recommend you keep on scrolling, as I’ve rounded up the top scents from the brand. But first, let me enlighten you on why these perfumes are top tier.

Junior Beauty Editor, Grace Lindsay, is a big fan of Floral Street perfumes.

This British brand was founded by Michelle Feeney in 2017. Feeney wanted sustainability and eco-responsibility to be at the brand’s core, which is why the perfumes come in reusable, recyclable and biodegradable pulp packaging. The scents themselves are vegan and cruelty free, and are crafted from responsibly sourced ingredients.

Not only did the brand’s more sustainable approach to fragrances interest me, but after trying the perfumes myself, I was immediately impressed by the unique portfolio of scents. There are so many fun fragrance combinations from ylang ylang and espresso to rhubarb and sandalwood, and trust me when I say that each and every creation smells so expensive. I love layering up different perfumes from the brand, and they always earn me compliments. In fact, just the other day I was wearing a Floral Street scent and someone in the office came up to me to ask what perfume I had on as they loved it so much.

In my opinion, one of the things that makes a perfume seem so expensive is whether it has the ability to linger on the skin. Floral Street’s more intense perfumes such as Ylang Ylang Espresso and Black Lotus have seriously impressive lasting powers, whereas the slightly more subtle, fresh, everyday scents might need to be reapplied before heading out in the evening. However, the great thing about this brand is that they do travel versions of the fragrances that you can pop in your bag and take on the go. Plus, the 50ml bottles are around £74, and while that is an investment, it’s not as expensive as other luxury fragrances on the market, so I don’t feel bad spraying a little extra.

If you’re keen to know my top picks from the brand, I’ve included my favourite perfumes below, so keep on scrolling to shop…

Key notes: Ylang ylang, espresso, jasmine and fresh cream. First up is my most complimented fragrance from the brand, Ylang Ylang Espresso. If you’re looking for a sexy evening scent, then this is the one for you. It features delicious, gourmand notes of coffee and cream which are blended with sensual jasmine for a smooth, rich finish.

Key notes: Apple blossom, pink pomelo, vanilla and sandalwood. If you like a really sweet scent, then you will love this. One spray and you’ll be transported to a field of apple blossom trees on a hot summer’s day. It’s fresh, it’s fruity, and it’s downright delicious.

Key notes: Rhubarb, island gardenia and sandalwood. This is one of the brand’s bestselling scents, and for good reason. It’s another super fresh option for every day with notes of zingy rhubarb, but it has more of a floral base than the fragrance above thanks to the addition of crisp island gardenia.

Key notes: Saffron, centifolia rose and papyrus. In contrast to Electric Rhubarb, Black Lotus is a spicy, woody perfume that I often reach for in the autumn and winter months. This will definitely leave a lasting impression thanks to punchy saffron and papyrus notes.

Key notes: Mandarin, bergamot and bellini accord. This was my first ever fragrance from the brand, and it’s still one of my favourites to this day. It’s definitely more of a summer scent, with notes of fresh mandarin and sparkling bellini accord. Trust me when I say that one spray of this will put a spring in your step.

Key notes: Blackcurrant, candy floss and pink pepper. Another bestselling scent from the brand is Wonderland Peony. This perfume is perfect for those of you who like something fruity and floral, thanks to notes of juicy blackcurrant and sugary candy floss.

Key notes: Coconut, jasmine and salted musks. I reach for this scent every summer without fail. The only way to describe it is like a holiday in a bottle. Creamy coconut gives it that fresh opening, while jasmine and salted musks add a richer, captivating edge.

Key notes: Vanilla, jasmine and amber. When I think of my favourite notes, I immediately think of vanilla, amber and jasmine, which are all included in Floral Street’s Wild Vanilla Orchid perfume. It is the cosiest, warmest, most comforting scent that I will never get sick of.
