New York Yankees right-hander Domingo German pitched a perfect game in an 11-0 win against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night.
It marks the first perfect game since 2012 when Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners recorded the feat against the Tampa Bay Rays.
It marks the 24th perfect game in MLB history.
German, a 30-year-old Dominican, broke into the majors with the Yankees in 2017 and has played with the team for his entire MLB career.
German made headlines last month when he was ejected for having an illegal substance on his hand during a game in Toronto against the Blue Jays. He received a 10-game suspension.
More to come.
