3 Major Fashion Trends That Zara, & Other Stories and Mango Are Backing Now

At Who What Wear we strive to be at the forefront of fashion, always bringing you the latest in fashion trends straight from the shows–but one thing that is always abundantly clear is, what is brought to life on the runway doesn’t always translate to real life. While we will all remember Kim Kardashian’s head-to-toe Balenciaga lycra moment and Miu Miu’s belt-meets-skirt for years to come, it doesn’t reflect what we want to wear in our everyday lives. Fortunately, the high-street does a brilliant job of translating some of fashions key moments into wearable trends, but none better than 3 of our affordable favourites–Zara, & Other Stories and Mango.

After creating plenty of their own viral moments (take Sienna Miller at Glasto and the celeb It coat for example), these high-street heroes have proven that it is possible to create fashion-forward pieces without the designer price tag, and so we regularly comb through the new-in sections to find the next big hits inspired by the Fashion Week shows.

Below I’ve picked out 3 of the most important trends to know this season and how to shop them all for under £95, bargain! So keep scrolling for my top picks below.

When it comes to prints, we had a relatively scaled back spring and summer. With bright colour blocking leading the way, and a focus on shape and texture rather than pattern, stripes quietly dominated the market, covering everything from pinstriped co-ords to chunky striped knits. But now, as we transition into autumn, prepare the see the return of the polka dot. Popping up on plenty of the high-street’s summer dresses, and sneaking its way onto shirts and skirts, the spot is back and all over & Other Stories, Mango and Zara.

Style Notes: It’s more than likely you saw this Realisation Par dress in your feed, it was everywhere in the height of summer and was the obvious choice for Raenn Langas, whose feed has been sporting plenty of polka dots from Mango lately.

Style Notes: When you find a print trend works that works, double up on co-ordinating pieces like Rachel Clifton.

A classic column midi, but with an unexpectedly good open back detail.

For those who love a satin skirt, this unique, asymmetric, wraparound in burnt orange is your summer update.

Are polka dots a neutral? Because this shirt would go with everything.

This chic white-on-brown polka dot is a key print at Mango right now, and is available as a shirt, jumpsuit, skirt, trousers, and scarf, so there’s multiple ways to work it into your wardrobe.

The. Shape. Of. This. Dress. I have a feeling this about to be huge on social media.

The high-street is nailing corsetry details right now, and this dress is example of flattering tailoring done right.

There is something decidedly 80s about this top, and whether it’s the fit, the black polka dot, or the Princess Diana-meets-Sade energy, we’re here for it.

Shirt dresses are always a winner, always looking incredible no matter your size, shape or height.

Does animal print ever really go out of style? As reliable as florals for spring, we can expect wildlife inspired prints to emerge from hibernation around autumn, but this year there is a new contender alongside the tried and tested leopard print. Zebra. From Mango’s flowy shirt to it’s must-have mini, this isn’t a trend for wallflowers as the street-style set have shown, so opt for head-to-toe looks or pieces that make the print the star of the show. It’s time to take a walk on the wild side.

Style Notes: If there is any key piece to nail the trend, it’s the dress. Zebra dresses are huge right now, just add minimal black accessories like Tamara Mory’s mules and bag.

Style Notes: There are two things you can always count on. 1, Kate Moss will always bring back leopard print, and 2, it will always pair best with a tailored black trouser.

Style Notes: Turning an oversized shirt into a dress is the kind of hack we wish we’d thought of every time an unexpected heatwave hits.

A sheer midi for when you need a low maintenance dress with a high impact.

A light and flowy option to add to your work-to-weekend shirt collection.

I’d wear this cami under a black suit for party season, just add gold heels.

The micro mini is sticking around for another season, pushing the boundaries of hemlines and making legs look infinitely longer.

The trend just stop at clothes, there’s accessories to think about too. In fact, a strappy sandal like these is the easiest way to nod to the trend if head-to-toe print doesn’t take your fancy,

This pretty spin on leopard print swaps out the traditional colours for pastels, giving it a softer, more romantic feel.

If this is isn’t a vacation dress, I don’t know what is. Make the most of being out of office and on the beach in this cut-out kaftan-sque midi.

We have originally Valentino to thank for this hot pink renaissance (with a little bit of Margot Robbie’s Barbie too), but the high-street has embraced fuchsia pink with a fervour. However you feel about this divisive colour, it’s quite difficult to miss it. Bold, bright and unapologetic, 2022 is a Barbie world and we just live in it.

Style Notes: This colour isn’t just relegated to summer, you can make the most of hot pink knits too.

Style Notes: Take Barbiecore quite literally in glossy pinks and matching accessories.

This dress has “party” written all over it.

I spent most of my holidays in a hot pink co-ord, and I can confirm a bubblegum pink shirt is surprisingly versatile.

Ruched details not only make jersey dresses look more expensive, but make a better fit too.

A easy trouser so comfortable you’ll be convinced to trade in your jeans.

After just spotting Jennifer Lawrence in this dress style, we’re convinced that the jersey vest dress is one to watch.

It’s retro shoe season! Along with the kitten heel, the slingback is making a fashionable comeback. A-line skirts at the ready…
