5 Low-Key Beauty Products the Olsen Sisters Swear By

Between their trademark all-black outfits and seriously dramatic wedding guest ensembles, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen undoubtedly know what suits them when it comes to their wardrobe. The same can definitely be said of their beauty choices. From their perfectly tousled hair to their carefully smudged eyeliner, the twins have a classic-but-cool approach to both their hair and makeup routines.

But what are the specific products that go into maintaining the Olsens’ signature beauty looks? The duo might be famously tight-lipped about the contents of their makeup bags, but (luckily) I’m always willing to play beauty editor detective in my quest to find out what products the A-list genuinely swear by.

Keep scrolling for the six beauty products that Ashley and Mary-Kate have previously given their seal of approval to, and shop them for yourself.

I love a good lip balm, so there’s nothing that pleases me more than an affordable recommendation from the A-list. “I like Brave Soldier Lip Balm. That’s really good,” Mary-Kate told Elle. And Ashley concurs. “It’s more of a high-impact chapstick for sports like hiking and skiing. We both like that.”

When asked which products they carry in their handbags at all times, Mary-Kate was definitive about this luxurious Clé de Peau Beauté face powder being a must-have.

Ashley, on the other hand, wouldn’t be without an eyebrow spoolie. “I have unruly brows, so my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Brush goes everywhere with me,” she revealed.

As for their trademark nude lip? “It’s not a lipstick—it’s a waterproof lip liner,” Ashley told Byrdie. “Our makeup artist [Erik Soto] sends them to us.”

When it comes to fragrance, it’s no surprise that their perfume of choice comes courtesy of their own brand, Elizabeth and James. “I love sandalwood. It’s sensual, masculine, and grounded,” Mary-Kate told Teen Vogue. Ashley is into “feminine, pure fragrances” and alternates between this one and Nirvana White depending on her mood. There has been a lot of talk about whether these fragrances have been discontinued, but they are still available at some retailers.
