7 Trend-Free Outfit Ideas We're Stealing From Celebrities

Often when a celebrity causes chaos with an outfit that everyone wants to copy immediately, it’s because it’s trend-free. A classic, effortless ensemble that can be easily recreated by us non-A-listers is always going to spark conversation and some at-home styling.

Sometimes you just want to keep it simple and fuss-free, and celebs clearly feel the same, as there are lots of trend-free celeb outfit examples out there for us to take inspiration from.

The beauty of a classic look is that it is often made up of items we already own and love, such as great jeans, a cosy knit, and an oversized white shirt. And while the foundations of all the looks below are timeless in nature, feel free to add some trendy elements (like Dakota Johnson’s knitted set) or swap in fun accessories to add a contemporary touch.

Intrigued? Scroll on for seven of our favourite trend-free celebrity outfits, as well as everything you might need to help recreate each look at home.

Alexa wears a blazer from her own brand and a Chanel bag. Style Notes: Alexa Chung’s outfit is a timeless combo of breton stripes paired with jeans and a navy blazer. The gold accessories makes it feel both daytime and evening appropriate, as well as modern. So chic.

We love classic navy and white stripes, but if you want something a tad different, green is a great alternative.

It’s not just the colour that’s won us over, this blazer looks so expensive IRL.

I always favour a slightly darker wash for winter.

Gold is a neutral in our eyes.

Dakota wears a crop top and matching cardigan by The Andamane with navy Khaite trousers.  Style Notes: While Dakota Johnson’s knitted-set-and-wide-trousers look feels very current, when you break out down it’s composed of totally timeless pieces.

Opt for a classic shade like cream or grey to maximise the longevity of your knitwear.

I’d wear these with a vintage gold-buckled belt.

Cat-eye shades will never date.

Sienna Miller wears a Mr & Mrs Italy Parka and Celine Bag. Style Notes: This fail-safe jean outfit is suitable for so many winter occasions. I always reach for this combo at the weekend or when running mid-week earrings. Cosy and stylish, it’s the perfect mix of practical pieces and chic touches.

Deep pockets, tick, faux fur, tick and a practical hood, tick. This parka has it all.

These straight leg jeans are a favourite in the office.

A bag you’ll reach for season after season.

If your’e looking for a boot to pound the pavements in this winter, look no further.

Letitia Wright wears an Alexander Mcqueen Dress and blazer.  Style Notes: Letitia Wright knows a classic never fails. Teaming a black oversized blazer with a sequin mini dress and ankle boots is a look that you can always rely on. Swap sequins for a dark floral print or even a plain mini if you’re looking for a daytime version of this outfit.

Don’t you think this looks so much more expensive than it is?

I missed out on this last season but I won’t be making the same mistake again.

Upgrade your ankle boots for a cowboy inspired style this season.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wears a Toteme Sweater and Paige Leather Jeans. Style Notes: Ah leggings and knit, will you ever not look good together? Like Rosie, pair leather leggings with a soft, oversized knit in a classic colour before adding a hint of gold jewellery. If you want to keep things even more trend-free, swap the statement necklace for a basic one.

Grab it in a size up to nail Rosie’s look.

Go for a coated leather denim for a more budget friendly alternative.

You can customise this necklace with clip on pendants.

Kaia Gerber wears a camel coat, jeans and ankle boots in Milan. Style Notes: Kaia Gerber’s classic outfit exudes French girl vibes. And I just love it. Camel is always a great, expensive-looking winter hue and a great pair of jeans will never go out of style.

Arket has its fair share of great knitwear this season, but this classic cream style is a highlight.

This wool coat will not only keep you warm but looking super stylish, too.

The no pocket silhouette adds a smart touch.

Invest in these now and love them forever.

Katie Holmes wears a Khaite shirt and matching Trousers. Style Notes: Katie Holmes went head-to-toe leather and it worked oh so well. This might seem daring, but really this look is trend-defying thanks to its luxe material and colour.

Size up if you want a even roomier silhouette in this straight fitting design.

COS is always my go-to when it comes to leather on the high street.

I’m not sure anything feels more classic than black heels?
