Alexa's Glastonbury Dress-and-Boot Pairing Is So Un-Glastonbury

After a two-year hiatus, we were more excited than ever to see what the stylish Glastonbury goers were wearing, and as always Alexa Chung has nailed it. Styling a vibrant blue dress from Pleats Please Issey Miyake, a Barbour jacket and Saint Laurent lace-up boots, Alexa proved that festival style in a shopping-conscious era is all about hardworking pieces that can go from tent to dinner party and beyond.

For years, festival dressing has stood apart as its own fashion category. But with more of us looking to invest in clothes that we will wear for years to come, festival fashion is looking a little different for 2022. Gone are the days of buying outfits that will work for three days of mud and music. Festival style icons—our favourites being Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller —are showcasing outfits that are just as chic in a field as on city streets.

Alexa’s Glastonbury look is one of her best festival outfits yet.

It’s therefore no surprise that Alexa’s pleated dress and lace up boots look has caught out eye. The iconic pleating of Pleats Please Issey Miyake shows off the brands iconic craftsmanship and has plenty of styling options to make it a worthwhile investment. After decades of wellies being common place, boots are edging their way into becoming the new festival norm, and we can see why. A trusty pair is a wardrobe staple that can be worn with almost anything proving their cost-per-wear.

Whether you’re heading to a festival this summer or not, this dress and boots combination can be copied for almost any summer plans. Shop the look below and more Pleats Please Issey Miyake dresses.

A look we’d gladly wear on or off the festival field.

Don’t worry if your size is sold out, there’s plenty of more options below.

For British festivals, a waterproof jacket really is a must.

Oval frames are big right now, and these are top of my wishlist.

Alexa’s bold blue dress may be almost sold out, but this fuschia iteration is just as brilliant.

For a timeless touch, opt for the black version.

Understated but definitely not basic.

This midi style will look great with boots, heels or summer sandals.

The wrinkle-resistant fabric makes it perfect to throw in a suitcase for summer holidays.

Throw on thong sandals and white linen shirt for day, or add black mules and a clutch for a chic evening look.

This dark blue style will is really elegant.

Combine a classic silhouette with bold colours for a truly modern piece.

This colour has stolen my heart.

The minimalist design lets the texture and colour take centre stage.

A true stand-out.
