Allen leads Bills to first AFC East title since 1995 with win over Broncos

For the first time in a quarter-century, the Buffalo Bills are on top of the AFC East.

Buffalo clinched its first division title since 1995 with a 48-19 win over the Denver Broncos on Saturday. The Broncos were eliminated from post-season contention in the loss.

Josh Allen threw for 359 yards and two touchdowns — becoming just the second quarterback in franchise history to throw for 30-plus touchdowns in a season, after Jim Kelly — while adding 33 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

Stefon Diggs, the NFL’s leading receiver, picked up 11 catches for 147 yards to lead all players in all-purpose yards.

The Bills (11-3) have now matched their highest win total since 1999. They were already the No. 3 seed in the AFC entering Saturday, and now they sit just a half-game back of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the No. 2 spot.

More to come.
