I don’t know about you, but my IG is still feeling the effect of FX’s Love Story. As expected, it started with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy–inspired outfits and has quickly spiraled into a ’90s fashion magazine archive, where @curatedbysofiaa lectures on the beauty of vintage Vogue Italia. Thanks to IG comments and its niche community-building, it seems I’m not alone; indeed, fashion people everywhere are pining for the iconic minimalism of the ’90s. So much so It girls are rediscovering brands that defined the decade. The first name on the list: Eileen Fisher.
The Eileen Fisher aesthetic is easily recognizable. Boxy silhouettes. A dedication to natural fibers. Rarely fitted. An emphasis on simplicity. And it is nothing if not consistent. In fact, after starting in 1984, when asked what direction she imagines the brand heading, Fisher affirmed, “We aren’t moving away or departing from our brand principles, but instead it’s more of a deepening of these values.”
With modern brands feeding heavily into this ’90s craving, I was grateful when Fisher confirmed my suspicions that Eileen Fisher is the blueprint: “We’ve never reacted to the fashion trends. It feels like the industry is catching up to the principles we’ve held for decades.” She continued, “What may feel ‘current’ now (minimalism, versatility, fewer, better pieces) has long been embedded in the brand’s DNA.”

Scrolling through the brand’s new arrivals and collaborations, it’s clear the Eileen Fisher ethos is alive and well. I’m drawn in by its handcrafted straw totes, a sheer silk wrap that our editor at large, Nicole Eshaghpour, influenced me to get, elevated basics (you can’t go wrong with a cotton crewneck), and a plethora of organic linens.
It only feels right to style these pieces in a way CBK would approve of. That’s why a pair of cropped flares, strappy heels, and a clutch is always reliable. True to ’90s simplicity, Eileen Fisher knows at its center “the future of fashion isn’t more—it’s less, but better designed, better made, and worn for longer,” said Fisher.
All that to say, if the vibe is ’90s-chic, then Eileen Fisher is the ‘fit. Ahead, shop editor-approved finds from the timeless brand, from the exact silk wrap we’re loving to capsule wardrobe–worthy linens and cottons.

I’ve reached for this silk wrap more times than I can count.

I already know how I’d style these: with a high-neck silk blouse and a pair of almond-shaped flats.

My favorite way to style this lightweight jacket is with pair of white jeans and Adidas sneakers.

The bag that has traveled across state lines and international waters with me.

“I’m always drawn to the pieces I wear most often—especially our wide-leg pants. We always have a variety of them in the collection, and I tend to pair them with shorter, boxy tops and little boxy jackets,” said Fisher.

“I’m also really excited about the textures in the current collection, especially the pucker cottons,” Fisher shared.

I like styling this with a fringe scarf tied around the waist.

“We don’t really do prints—instead, the patterns are woven directly into the fabric so they feel integral to the piece rather than layered on top of it,” shared Fisher.

The apple green color trend wasn’t on my Bingo card this summer.
