I Just Popped Into Rixo—and Fell for These 5 Pieces

If you want a printed summer dress there’s one place you check first—Rixo. Henrietta Rix and Orlagh  McCloskey started their brand creating vintage-inspired printed dresses in beautiful silks and hand-drawn prints— and editors and influencers instantly all pounced on the brand. Printed dresses remain Rixo’s bread and butter and you’ll always be able to find a bloody good wedding dress from here, but they’ve also expanded outside of what you’d expect. They now design everything from knitwear to jewellery and even the dresses have more variety meaning there’s likely a dress for everyone.

I popped into the King’s Road store to try on the entirety of the new collection (a hard job, but someone’s got to do it) and selected five pieces in particular that stood out to me as strong investments. There’s the perfect holiday dress, the perfect throw-on summer dress and of course the perfect wedding guest dress.

Style Notes: Now this is my ideal holiday or heatwave dress. On the hanger it doesn’t look so exciting, but the neckline is so beautiful. This is backless however, so you’l l need to be happy to go bra free or have a clever bra underneath.

Style Notes: I wouldn’t usually go for a neutral crochet—I’m far more interested in bright colourful prints. But on I was actually surprised by how much I loved this neckline and the muted polka dot print. I’m imagining this for lazy dinners in Ibiza.

Style Notes: Now this one was my favourite. It’s actually from the bridesmaids line, but I think it’s the perfect summer dress. The Gio shape is a best-seller at Rixo, and I love how the navy polka dots look against the navy florals.

Style Notes: The PR from Rixo encouraged me to try this on, and I’m so glad she did. Slip skirts have slowly become another Rixo signature, and I love how this holiday print looks with a white blouse.

Style Notes: Three other women tried this dress on while I was there, so unsurprisingly it’s now sold out. But blue florals are a Rixo staple, and will always be at the heart of any collection.

Next up, the key trends for autumn winter 2022.
