I Searched Through 100s of High-Street Cowboy Boots—These 22 Are the Best

It’s safe to say that cowboy boots are back. From a plethora of influencers to celebs like Dua Lipa, Emma Chamberlain and Kendall Jenner, the style has well and truly stormed the fashion world (again). A firm favourite amongst minimalist and maximalists alike,  whether you want to stick to a monochrome colour palette or are branching out with a bright or embellished design, there’s a pair to suit every taste and budget.

Style Notes: Kendall Jenner looks so chic in a simple racer-style midi dress, cowboy boots and sunglasses.

Style Notes: The queen of Y2K fashion Emma Chamberlain proves that mismatching colours can look both sleek and polished.

When it comes to the runway, designers far from shy away from the trend. After making its debut in 1979 as part of Ralph Lauren’s new Polo Western and Ralph Lauren Western lines, the cowboy boot has featured in an assortment of designer collections from Chanel (Haute Couture 22) to Isabel Marant (autumn/winter 21) and Céline (autumn/winter 21) to Ganni (spring/summer 23).

Plus, thanks to the ever-evolving world of street style, there’s already plenty of inspiration on how to make them work in your wardrobe IRL. As we head into winter, pair slimmer styles with straight jeans and a chunky knit or cardigan before layering over a wool coat. Over autumn, I’ll be wearing mine with leather shorts and a blazer as seen at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Want to go bold? Take cues from Emma Chamberlain and pair bright boots with another block colour to really make a statement.

Style Notes: I love how Grace has paired her midi and longline blazer with cowboy boots to make her dress work for autumn.

Style Notes: How good is this all-white ensemble?

But what if your budget doesn’t quite stretch to those much-loved designer names? Not to worry, that’s where I come in. While I firmly believe a new season is a great time to invest in those forever pieces, when it comes to autumn/winter footwear I always head to the high-street. So, I’ve done the hard work for you and searched through 100s of high-street boots to find the very best affordable cowboy boots for women. Scroll down to see my top picks.

Style Notes: I’m obsessed with Lauren’s gorgeous  transeasonal outfit. Pair white cowboy boots with darker colours for a really chic take on the trend.

Style Notes: Chrissy has nailed the trend here by wearing her classic cowboy boots with denim shorts and a suede jacket.

Style Notes: Rae makes her boots work year-round by wearing a white pair with a pretty summer dress. Add a trenchcoat as it gets cooler.

Starting strong…

I love this Topshop pair for a more understated nod to the trend.

AllSaints always have a fab boot offering.

The contrast stitching on this pair really add something special.

Slightly more expensive than other pairs but so worth it. These will last you for years.

Be brave and opt for a sleek all-white pair.

Tuck jeans or leggings into these and add a chunky knit for a relaxed yet put-together look.

I love the addition of the square toe on this pair.

A classic, shorter style that will go with so much.

This knee-high pair ticks two trends in one.

If you really want to go for it…

These distressed leather boots come in 14 colours.

Black patent boots are always a good idea.

These will look great with midi dresses.

Such classics.

For something fun if you’re looking to channel the Y2K trend.

You can’t go wrong with a sandy suede pair.

Genuine leather for under £100? Yes please!

Opt for a lower heel if you’ll be wearing these to work and beyond.

I love this ankle-length pair.

Don’t you think these look so much more expensive than they are?

Pair with jeans and a blazer for an easy, chic transeasonal outfit.
