If You Love Denim, You Need To See This Perfect Co-Ord From Whistles

I am always overly cautious when considering whether to invest in a trend or not. My rule of thumb is: Would I have bought this two years ago before it was ‘in’ fashion? Would I wear it in two years’ time after it’s dropped off the social media radar? This is a thought process I went through when considering this season’s patchwork denim trend, a look that, incidentally, features prominently in Whistles’ latest Limited Edition collection, which launched this week.

The edit features a number of cool patchwork pieces, but it was one particular co-ord which immediately set my pulse racing. The boxy shacket and jeans can either be worn together as a statement co-ord, or separately as an easy way to liven-up your wardrobe basics. Both come with tonal denim patches that manage to feel distinctive without falling into the ‘hippy chic’ aesthetic that can sometimes be associated with patchwork.

I love the statement-making simplicity of this co-ord, which is also so easy to style.

The pocket details are just as good as the front of the jeans.

Yes, it may be a bold look, but after rigorous testing on my behalf, I can confirm that this duo will offer plenty of bang for your buck. I have styled it above to show you how it looks as a pairing and worn separately. The jacket also works with midi dresses, skirts and cut-off shorts, while the jeans are the ideal classic fit that can be thrown together with any jumper or jacket. Fit-wise, I’m wearing the jacket in a UK 8, and find it true to size. The fabric is light, so ideal for the summer months, but perhaps less good as an insulating layer. I’m wearing the jeans in a size 27, and the hips are a little on the snug side, so I would recommend sizing up if you prefer a looser fit. The jeans are already pretty low in stock, so I recommend acting now if you want to get your hands on these babies. Scroll down to see and shop the pieces. You can thank me later.
