Being a shopper is as much a part of who I am as the town I grew up in. It isn’t just what I do, though I’m grateful every day that I can get paid to do something so core to my being. When I’m not working, you can find me scouring eBay for extremely niche vintage pieces or spying on Zara’s new arrivals every Tuesday and Thursday just to see what’s good. I have alarms on my phone at 6:59 a.m. and 3:59 p.m. to get a first look at The RealReal’s latest drops. All that’s to say that my wish lists at any given time are loaded with insider gems, and I’m always hunting down something (or a few things, if I’m being realistic) hyperspecific. This month, I’ve decided not to gatekeep my searches and instead share what I’m shopping for in real time.
From khaki denim that I’m convinced will break me out of my current jeans rut to the handbag color I’m taking my sweet time searching for the perfect version of, the six items I can’t stop thinking about and using up all my data to seek out are just a scroll away. Trust me—I’m not the only one looking for them. My other hobby, searching Instagram for interesting pieces and trends, has provided plenty of proof that the items below are either already everywhere among cool girls online or about to be. Either way, I suggest shopping them all alongside me.
Fashion-Editor Wish List July 2026
1. Shrunken V-Neck Sweater
The fit of this knit makes it perfect for styling with everything from vintage 501s to a pencil skirt. Yes, I’m aware that it’s July and too hot for sweaters, but I prefer to shop ahead of the season I’m in. That’s how you get the best deals.
Okay, I already own this sweater, but I’m considering buying another, either in the same color (this one) or in black. That’s how much I love it and wear it.
One of my favorite The RealReal tricks is to shop for vintage designer basics that have inspired the modern ones everyone wants. I don’t particularly care that this has a tiny hole in it, as a $40 Prada sweater will always be higher quality than one from a fast-fashion brand that probably costs more.
2. Neutral Handbag
I’ve had my eye on the Marlo bag since I first spotted it on The Row’s website. This was long before any celebs had carried it, making it famous, and it’s taken me years at this point to finally decide to add one to my bag collection.
This color is so rich and luxurious. Plus, it looks gorgeous with black or white as well as navy, dark brown, burgundy, and more.
If I’m spending this much money on a bag, people would probably suggest I go with black or even chocolate brown, but a neutral option feels just as versatile while also adding some newness to the bag options I already own.
3. Sleeping Gown
It will cost me $100 to own a dress that I could easily wear once a week all summer and then throw on with a lightweight knit, trench coat, or leather jacket in the fall and spring. Winter might be tricky, but now that I live in L.A. instead of New York, I’m sure I can actually wear it all year long.
If I’m looking for unbranded vintage, Etsy will always be stop number one. It’s a treasure trove that I’ll never get tired of.
Reformation dresses are one of my many fashion weaknesses, especially lately. I swear the quality of options keeps going up.
4. Khaki Jeans
As someone who owns 50+ pairs of jeans, denim is the last thing I need to be buying. I’ve been in a serious rut when it comes to styling the pairs I own since moving to L.A., so I’ve convinced myself that introducing a new color and, in this case, silhouette is just what I need to do. My coworker Kristen Nichols owns these and swears by them. I think I should be next on the masthead to buy a pair.
The darker rinse on these makes them feel unique, even compared to the other khaki-colored jeans I’ve been seeing all over my IG feed lately.
5. Two-Tone Shoes
No one’s doing this green-and-black color combination, which is why I think I want these heeled thong sandals so badly. It’s such a cool and unique but still versatile pairing that will add to any jeans-and-tee outfit.
Chanel is mother when it comes to two-tone footwear, and since these are the shoes I haven’t been able to get out of my head since I saw them debut in Matthieu Blazy’s freshman Chanel show, I had to include them in this roundup. I just know I’d wear them constantly.
When your outfit needs a pop of color that isn’t too loud, these are perfect sandals. Plus, the slight wedge makes them easy to walk in, no matter how far you have to go. Or at least, that’s what I’m telling myself to justify yet another shoe purchase.
6. Tan Leather Skirt
This is a skirt that’s guaranteed to earn compliments, whether it’s styled with a black sleeveless turtleneck or a simple button-down shirt.
Tan leather skirts are coming back, but there’s an endless supply on the secondhand market. All you have to do is dig for the perfect one, something that I’ve been doing for weeks now. This vintage Gucci number could just be my buy.
If I decided to spend spend, I’d buy this Toteme option that’s seriously discounted right now. I love the paneling detail and low-rise fit.
