I'm a Shopping Expert—30 New-In Pieces I'd Recommend to Anyone Who'd Listen

As a Who What Wear UK editor specifically focused on finding the very best shopping buys for you, I spend an awful lot of time scrolling through brands’ new-in sections. And when I’m not combing websites for standout pieces, I’m usually in-store trying them on, which means I get an even better idea of what new things are actually worth buying. I feel the fabrics and get to grips with the fits and detailing, all of which helps me recommend only top-tier products when I write these articles.

I come across so many great pieces, but some are just better than others—like, next-level good. And those are usually the pieces that end up on my own wish list (and often in my own wardrobe). So I thought I’d create a space here to collate all these truly amazing new-in buys each month and pass on the knowledge of what a fashion editor is actually considering buying for herself.

I’m always on the lookout for pieces that make my outfits look the most stylish and expensive with as little effort as possible, so you’ll find a lot of easy but chic pieces below. Versatility also plays a huge part in the elimination process when I’m thinking about whether something is worth buying. If I can dress it up and down and layer it up in all seasons, I know I’ll get more wear out of it, so it’s a winner.

Keep scrolling and you’ll find the 30 new things I’m currently obsessed with. Any one of them would add worth to your wardrobe, and you can have full confidence that I’m either saving up for, dreaming of or wearing these pieces right now.

Ready to be your most-worn dress.

A wardrobe classic.

Everyone on the Who What Wear team wants this set for autumn.

Cargo trousers that don’t feel too trend-led.

A timeless investment.

Your friends will never believe this isn’t designer.

Trench season is almost upon us! And no doubt this classic one will sell out by then.

Logo tanks are here to stay. Choose your designer now. (I’m Team Prada all the way.)

Arket’s best-selling striped jumper is back for autumn 2022 in this new round-neck version, and I can bet you it will sell out just as quickly.

A showstopper dress that’s actually really easy to wear. I want to wear this to all the weddings I have left to attend this year.

I just bought these and plan on wearing them way into autumn.

This is set to be one of those cult H&M sellouts—act fast (and be sure to sign up for restocks if you miss it first time around.)

Can you blame me for getting excited about autumn early when & Other Stories is dropping gorgeous new jackets like this?

I’ve spotted my dream new-season loafers already.

Barbiecore is happening, and this shirt ticks off the trend nicely. I know I’ll enjoy pulling this out for many seasons to come as well.

A wardrobe staple you’ll never regret.

The new Jodie comes with a handy optional shoulder chain that makes it cute and practical.

Second-skin tops are closet saviours when the air starts getting chillier.

How expensive does this under-£70 dress look?

This sell-out bag is back in stock, for now.

A stunning everyday dress that you could also dress up for events.

No, they’re not Prada. Yes, they are M&S. And yes, I did just add them to my basket.

A classic pair of black trousers goes a long way. These are even more elevated than usual, with a subtle but flattering crossover waist.

The ultimate work shoes.

Cargo trousers are It for autumn—you heard it here first.

COS just updated its sell-out crossbody bag. Go, go, go!

I love the ruched body and cornflower blue of this dress, which also comes in petite sizes.

Such an easy, versatile dress to wear to everything.

Fun going-out shoes can always be added to a simple jeans outfit to dress it up. These will see you through countless parties, but they’re comfortable enough to wear in the day too, if that’s your vibe.

A great plus-size cargo-trouser option that looks extremely premium.
