I'm an Editor—These Are the 9 Pieces on My Spring Wish List

As an editor at Who What Wear, I typically spend a lot of time looking at new-in products, so I thought it would be handy to have this space where I’m able share with you the very best pieces I come across and the shopping picks I’m personally adding to my wish list.

This month, I’m looking forward to the imminent spring. With more blue skies appearing and noticeably longer days, I just can’t help but get excited for the season ahead. In fact, I think spring is my favourite season of all—the daffodils, the trench coats, the striped knits and that first morning when it’s warm enough to leave the house in just a blazer over a T-shirt. Bliss!

The current new-in sections seem to be reflecting my mood (or my mood is feeding off the new-in sections?). Either way, despite there still being a chill in the air, there’s plenty of options for introducing a lighter feel to our wardrobes already. For me, spring is all about classics, so I plan on investing in only a few really good quality items I can pair with my existing basics that I know I’ll want to pull out next year as well.

Arket is leaning into crisp capsule pieces and fresh stripes (yes—that famous jumper is back in stock) with a new drop that’s so good I could avoid shopping anywhere else all season. But, that would mean missing out on other statement pieces to elevate my existing wardrobe, like Loewe’s logo tank which I know I’ll wear to death and easily get my money’s worth. I’ve also been saving up for Loewe’s puzzle bag for a while now and the new grained-leather version in this perfect ‘greige’ may just be too good to resist any longer.

The other investment item on my spring wish list is a pair of designer loafers. I’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing over which are the best, and I’ve landed on Saint Laurent’s crisp white ‘Le Loafers’. They have a subtle logo and a more timeless, less chunky design to ensure they’ll last me for many seasons to come. Obviously, I’ll be peppering these key pieces in  amongst high street winners, like H&M’s new expensive-looking blazer which will no doubt sell out in minutes.

Whether you’re looking to buy, browse for inspiration or discover something new, keep scrolling to see the nine items on my spring wish list this year that I believe are totally worth investing in…

Still living rent free in my mind, especially this elevated Khaki colour.

I’m in the market for a loose pair of jeans and these ultra-chic ones tick all the boxes.

I simply can’t wait until spring for these. They’ll be sold out by then anyway.

I have a soft spot for Arket’s stretch denim. It’s comfy but still holds its shape—these are the latest style I added to my collection.

I just know I’ll wear these all year on repeat.

I recently ordered this and it’s gorgeous. It does come up oversized though so size down if you’re after a less baggy fit.

The perfect 2023 alternative to jeans.

See? Winter whites galore.

Suede bags will be everywhere this year.

The camel coat I’ve been searching for.

My dream bag for 2023.

Such a cosy, versatile knit.

I’m seriously tempted by the zebra-print version of these and actually the white—but for now I’ll start with classic black.

If you were going to invest in one evening dress to suit all occasions, in my opinion this one can’t be beaten.

PSA: Arket just had a a fresh restock of New Balance. I always buy my trainers from here by the way—it has the coolest edit, so non-sneakerheads like me can be confident picking any style.

I’ve been looking for a classic pair of black wide-leg trousers to dress up and down. I love that these are slightly cropped so will pair well with chunky flat boots but also flash some ankle when worn with the Gucci slingbacks.

I honestly believe these are such a good investment. They look great with dresses, skirts and tailoring, but I’d wear them with jeans and a blazer for a low-key, polished look that works at drinks, dates, dinners, parties… the list goes on.

Can you fall in love with a jacket? That’s how it felt when I scrolled upon this designer-looking style recently. It’s such a chic alternative to a biker.
