I'm Not One for Copying Outfits, But These 10 Instagram Looks Are Perfection

I’m not sure if it’s the fact I haven’t treated myself to anything new in a while or that we’re currently navigating that awkward period between seasons where the weather can’t seem to make up its mind, but lately, I’ve been feeling stuck in a style rut. However, with autumn rapidly approaching, I think it’s high time I pull myself out of my self-induced fashion funk and allow myself to get excited about cosy knits, luxurious layers and, yes, a pumpkin spice latte or two.

Instead of buying a host of new pieces, I first want to shop my own wardrobe. I’ve been living in floaty dresses and linen shirting for months, so I know digging out my autumnal pieces will help my style feel fresher in a flash. But how to style them? I’ve been saving chic influencer autumn outfits on my Instagram for weeks now, and there are 10 standout looks that I can’t wait to try—most of which I’m pretty sure I can assemble with pieces I already own.

Scroll below to see the autumn outfits fashion people are already wearing, along with current shopping options for each should you find something you want to invest in that you mightn’t already own.

Style Notes: Breton-stripe knitwear is about as timeless as autumn fashion gets, particularly when it’s paired with black trousers and loafers.

Style Notes: Leather is synonymous with autumn, and I love this take, which involves a leather skirt and blazer. Feel free to mix the colours of your leather for a unique outcome.

Style Notes: Autumn = cold. I hate the cold. The antidote? A cosy and chic padded jacket. Extra points if you blend the rest of your outfit to match its colour.

Style Notes: Leather trousers are going to loosen up this autumn—something that’s only being confirmed by the plethora of wide-leg pairs currently landing in new-in sections. Give a black pair instant lift with a bright knit.

Style Notes: I live in blazers year-round, but I think they look their chicest in autumn, worn essentially as tops for elevated evening looks.

Style Notes: Long sleeves on dresses are an autumn no-brainer, as they’ll keep you toastier, even when temps drop. Apply that logic to your legs with a pair of high boots.

Style Notes: Is there anything more timeless than a trench coat worn with a black roll-neck knit and jeans? I think not.

Style Notes: Just like dresses, co-ords make getting ready and styling a look so easy, as the hard work of choosing what to pair something with is already done for you. In terms of shoes, you can’t go wrong with some knee-highs.

Style Notes: Get significantly more wear out of more formal suiting by styling it with a basic vest top and kicks for a chic off-duty ensemble you can wear for the entirety of autumn.

Style Notes: Shirt dresses are a great investment for autumn, as they look just as good worn over trousers and jeans, unbuttoned at the hem. For after-dark pursuits, just add sleek block heels.
