Lightning sweep Panthers, move on to Eastern Conference final

The Tampa Bay Lightning are halfway between them and a legendary three-peat.

With a 2-0 win Monday night at Amalie Arena, the Lightning swept the Florida Panthers and will be moving on to the Eastern Conference final. The Bolts will take on the winner of the New York Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes series.

The last team to win three consecutive Stanley Cups was the New York Islanders from 1979-80 to 1981-82. The Isles went on to win a fourth straight cup in 1982-83.

More to come.
