Meghan Markle Just Wore the Colour Expert's Agree Looks Good On Everyone

A few years ago I had my “colours done”, which involved various fabric swatches draped around my neck to show how they worked (or not) with my skin tone. Personally, I very much believe that if you like a colour you should wear it, as there’s really no rules in fashion—at least none that I encourage. Still, if you’re faced with a piece you love in various colours, where do you begin? It’s easy to stick to reliable base colours of black, white and grey, but for those looking to add more colour to their wardrobe, there’s one hue out there that suits all skin tones, and Meghan Markle has proved just how brilliant this colour is: primary red.

Every few months we get a sighting of Meghan Markle and are reminded of just how stylish she is. Whether meeting up with feminist pioneers or attending sporting events, Meghan seamlessly balances trending styles and classic combinations. Stepping out at the opening ceremony of the One Young World Summit, in head-to-toe Valentino, Meghan reminded me of the power of red. Bold, striking and according to the experts, the one colour that everyone can wear. What’s more, it just so happens to be one of 2022’s biggest colour trends.

Meghan wore a red Valentino outfit for the opening ceremony of the One Young World Summit.

Take note from Meghan and wear it from head-to-toe for maximum impact, or ease in with a few pops of red.

During my consultation, I learnt that this is the one colour that suits everyone. We know the power of a red lip, so red clothing is not to be overlooked. Whether you’re a spring, summer, autumn or winter, this universally flattering colour celebrates all complexions, so I think its time we celebrated it right back. And it seems our favourite high-street and high-end brands got the memo about this one-colour-suits-all tone.

Here’s some of the best red pieces around right now, that we think Meghan would approve of.

This is one of my favourite necklines.

How could you not fall in love with these Choo’s.

If you tend to stick to muted tones, accessories are a great way to add colour to your looks.

I plan to wear this matching cardigan and top set all winter long.

Just in time for cooler months.

This sweater comes in 15 colour variations, hopefully this helps you narrow down your choice.

Standout at your next event.

Chic, structured and vibrant red.
