My Holy Trinity of Fall Boot Trends

My Holy Trinity of Fall Boot Trends

There are hundreds of different kinds of boots on the market right now. Tall, short, flat, heeled, suede, leather, pointy, round—the options are overwhelming. If you’re feeling a bit dumbfounded by the sheer variety of boots to choose from this fall and winter, you’re not alone. I want to help you take the guesswork out of boot shopping, so I narrowed down my favorite styles to a much more manageable number: three.

Riding boots are the first in my personal holy trinity of fall boot trends. While Kate Middleton is a fan of wearing hers with skinny jeans, that’s far from the only way to style them right now. I’d also recommend teaming them with miniskirts and tights or flowy dresses. If you’d like to invest in a super-high-quality pair, I’d suggest Dôen’s chic pair, but I also found several options under $150 from H&M, Zara, and more. Scroll down to find out the two other boot styles that round out my list.

Riding Boots

Kate Middleton, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kendall Jenner, Ayo Edebiri, and Irina Shayk are just some of the many celebrity fans of riding boots. Middleton, in fact, has been wearing the same pair since 2004! This season, there’s no shortage of excellent options to choose from.

Cowboy Boots

I recently wrote a story on what fashion people are wearing in Wyoming, Colorado, and Montana this fall, and it inspired me to add a little yeehaw to my wardrobe. Cowboy boots are simultaneously trendy and timeless—the perfect combination if you ask me. How cool do Kendall Jenner and Jeremy Pope look wearing them? Extremely.

Block-Heel Ankle Boots

To complete my trio of must-have boot styles, I simply had to include block-heel ankle boots. They go with absolutely everything under the sun, are comfortable, and will never go out of style. What more could you ask for?
