& Other Stories Is Our Go-to Destination for Summer—Here's Why

Whether I’m hunting down muted wardrobe staples, or in need of a more statement piece for the new season, my go-to destination is always & Other Stories. With design ateliers based in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles, & Other Stories amalgamates its expertise and influence from each city to create expensive-looking pieces at high-street prices.

For summer, I’m all about outfits that are easy to put together and no one does this relaxed summer dressing better than those in California. This is why at this time of year I always filter & Other Stories’ website by atelier, and head straight to the Los Angeles section.

This summer the LA atelier has created everything I’d want for a summer spent outdoors. Think floaty dresses for picnics in the park, smart linen shorts for city escapes and colourful accessories to then tie it all together. There’s a real focus on whimsical florals, with pink being the dominant colour palette for the collection this summer.

With sunny days just around the corner (I hope) I’ve taken it upon myself to search through the whole site and put together a concise edit of the best pieces to see you through the summer season. These pieces will be perfect for a summer spent at home, or to throw in your suitcase if you’re heading somewhere hot.

Pair with gladiator sandals and a raffia tote for a relaxed daytime look, or add white boots for the evening.

This bold tone can be enhanced with contrasting hues. Think deep blue sandals, or orange jewellery to really make this colour sing.

The tie-front is a really flattering design plus the neutral tones make this timeless.

A printed dress is the easiest throw-on piece for a quick, stylish look.

A floral top in vibrant tones is a great addition to your wardrobe this summer. This will look amazing with shorts, jeans or midi skirts.

Crochet is a personal favourite of mine. Even better, there’s a matching skirt. Shop here.

A plain white top with clever design and intricate ruched details is a minimalist’s dream.

The tie details give you lots of options on how to style this. A big bow at the back? Wrapped strap details around your midriff? Style it your own way.

Okay, it’s not a top. But I had to include this blooming floral romper that is sure to be a sell-out.

The fluid ruffles add movement to this piece giving an ethereal feel.

Few items are as synonymous with summer as linen trousers.

This colour. That’s all.

Wear as a matching set with the top, or break up with a crisp linen shirt.

This style was a sell-out last year and we can see why.

Nothing says summer quite like a basket bag.

If you’re inspired by Y2K style then look no further than these brilliant green terry cloth flatforms.

Every summer packing list should include a fabulous hat.

The sleek design has me convinced.

Cat eye sunglasses remain a timeless, seasonless staple that will suit all year round.
