Report: Raptors ‘actively engaged’ in Siakam trade talks with Pacers

The Toronto Raptors are discussing a Pascal Siakam trade with the Indiana Pacers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Tuesday night.

The potential deal would see shooting guard Bruce Brown Jr., other contracts and three first-round picks come to Toronto.

“While the two sides have been described as being far along in the process, according to those sources, they have yet to finalize or agree to a deal,” Charania wrote.

Siakam is eligible for unrestricted free agency after this season. Charania writes the two-time all-star is seeking a max deal.

After Charania published his report, Sportsnet’s Michael Grange reported that he doesn’t believe a trade is imminent.

“Pacers have been in mix for a while (and) Raptors have been in active talks (with) teams — Pacers among them — for a while,” Grange wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “We’ll see if this gets pushed over (the) line or if it’s just a sign market is ramping up.”

The Raptors began to reshape their roster late last month when they traded OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett and a second-round pick.

Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists this season.

Brown has a $23-million team option on his contract for next season. He signed a two-year, $45-million deal with the Pacers prior to this season, with the second year being a team option, after helping the Denver Nuggets win the NBA title last year.

The six-foot-four Brown, 27, is averaging 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists this season.
