Rosie HW’s Autumn Capsule Consists of These 8 Easy Basics

If I could trade wardrobes with anyone—and I really do mean anyone—it would be with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Before the minimalist aesthetic was as prevalent as it is now, Rosie was paving the way, favouring forever pieces in place of the short-lifespan trends that often prove all too tempting to other stars being courted by big, flashy brands. With a closet built upon the likes of Totême, Bottega Veneta, and The Row, I can scroll three years into her Instagram feed, and not a single thing will feel dated. Proof that she has an eye for a hardworking staple.

That’s not to say, however, that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley only ever wears known designers; high-end ones at that. Through Rosie’s Instagram feed, I discovered brands I didn’t previously know of; Marcela London, for one, has become one of my favourites. She’s also a fan of Bec & Bridge, the Australian label I’ve bought a couple of my most-worn dresses from. She’s also known to find the chicest-looking pieces from Zara.

So, naturally, looking for inspiration for my upcoming autumn wardrobe, I headed straight to Rosie’s social media and began saving down my favourite looks. During this process, I quickly identified the key pieces that make up Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s autumn capsule wardrobe. Because I try to be a nice person, I’ve decided to share them with you below. Scroll on to see the autumn trends and pieces Rosie Huntington-Whiteley relies on.

Style Notes: Rosie knows that embracing the oversize fashion trend can make your outfits look more expensive in the process. Take this blazer, for example; had it been more tapered, it wouldn’t have had the same effortless aesthetic.

Style Notes: Perhaps the most of-the-moment piece in Rosie’s outfit rotation is a pair of cargo trousers. Though integral to the Y2K aesthetic that’s currently sweeping TikTok, Rosie ensures hers look glossy by honing in on a premium fabric in a muted colourway.

Style Notes: Knitted dresses are a mainstay in many autumn wardrobes, but Rosie embraced them before they became the staple they are today. She still dons hers every autumn, which encourages me to do the same.

Style Notes: Everything Rosie wears has the ability to be styled in a multitude of ways, and one item that certainly couldn’t be more true of is the racer vest. You’ll see Rosie wear hers with everything, from tailored trousers to straight leg jeans, leather shorts to midi skirts, under shirts and as a base layer for knitwear.

Style Notes: As a mum of two, Rosie has a knack for zeroing in on quick outfit solutions that look chic but take next-to-no thought to assemble. Cue her collection of co-ords. Right now, she seems to be especially into those of the plisse pleat variety.

Style Notes: When temperatures dip, Rosie embraces the chill, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to dust off one of her many impressive tailored coats. Handily, some of the season’s best have already started to drop—I just know this & Other Stories beauty will sell out before October.

Style Notes: What would autumn be without a cosy knit? Though Rosie has plenty at her disposal, I’ve noticed she always invests in knitwear in muted hues, ensuring they have maximum versatility.

Style Notes: Although Rosie does wear jeans, you’re more likely to see her sporting a pair of tailored trousers, including on her days off. This preference means she always looks polished, even when she pairs them with white trainers and a casual padded jacket.
