These 5 Sandal Colours Are Replacing Black for Summer

I know what you’re thinking: But black sandals go with everything. While you’re of course correct, I’m here to tell you about all the other sandal options summer has to offer. Because while black is always the safe option when it comes to footwear, the offerings from some of my ultimate favourite brands are all about colour and lots of it.

Style influencer Karina wears the River Island heeled sandals clashing with a popping pink dress. And this is how you master one of this season’s key colour combos.

The most joyful shades you can think of are here to liven up any outfit in your summer wardrobe. Fear not, minimalists. I’ve found a colour for you in the form of soft, creamy shades that’ll be replacing black and white this season. But back to the colourful iterations. Tangerine is stealing the show for spring/summer, in general, and clashing it with hot pink (just like Karina did above) is the way to go. And while I’m on the topic of pink, any shade of the spectrum goes when it comes to sandals, heeled or flat, for summer. Add to this bold blues and actual rainbow multicoloured pairs from the likes of Loewe and JW Anderson, and I’m about to show you all the styles that’ll make you put your trusty black pairs to one side.

Everyone at Who What Wear loves this pair.

Huge fan of this attached-anklet style.

Try these out with a matching tangerine bag and a full white outfit.

These Dune classics come in so many colourways, but orange wins for me.

They do also come in black, so I wouldn’t blame you if you end up getting both colourways.

I would wear these with a white vest and tan wide-leg trousers.

The perfect heel height for a wedding guest look.

I’m a little bit in love with this knotted pair.

Flatforms are here to stay.

Hello, wedding guest heels.

I’m a huge fan of everything from the new Paula’s Ibiza collab, including these.

So fun with a frothy white midi dress.

These tie-dye sandals will look so good with baggy denim.

Love these beaded lace-ups with a bikini and crochet dress.

Anything Emili Sindlev wears, I want to wear.

So comfy.

I’m imagining these with a totally tonal outfit.

Wear-everywhere heels.

You can’t beat comfy sandals like this.

Fisherman sandals are here to stay, and I become more of a fan every time I see someone wearing them.

Alohas is a sustainable brand making everything to order to avoid waste.

I’m going to be reliving my childhood in jelly sandals (grown-up Gucci versions).

So chic.

I’m imagining these with an orange slip dress.

Here to liven up every outfit.
