Victoria Beckham Has Been Wearing This Anti-Skinny Jean Trend for Years

There’s been a lot of talk about the ‘end’ of skinny jeans recently. The conversation has predominantly been led by Gen Zs on TikTok, who have deemed the much-loved item ‘officially over’ (and apparently an instant indication of one’s age). And while we hate to jump on the bandwagon there does seem to be a lot of supporting evidence around to prove many of us are moving on, at least temporarily, from our beloved skinnies.

Enter, Victoria Beckham, fashion designer and mother of 4 Gen Zers. Whether influenced by her children or not, Beckham seems to have put her skinny jeans aside recently in favour of wide-leg and flared iterations, uploading several images of herself in the trending styles to Instagram. However, this silhouette is nothing new for the star as evidently, Beckham has been championing the anti-skinny jean trend for years.

We took a look into the archives and found images of Victoria wearing wide-leg and flared jeans across the last decade and beyond. Back in 2013, the designer paired ’70s-esque wide-leg jeans alongside a simple grey tee and prior to that, in 2003, Beckham was wearing distressed flares with a zip-up jacket and open-toe sandals.

If it’s good enough for VB, it’s good enough for us. Keep scrolling to see Victoria Beckham’s recent and past wide-leg jeans looks and then shop the style below.

Style Notes: Late last year, VB posted this image of herself wearing the wide-leg jeans from her most recent collection.

Style Notes: Alongside her husband, here Beckham styles patchwork flares alongside a colour-block jumper.

Style Notes: Spotted in 2013, here Beckham wears high-waisted, wide-leg jeans in a style very reminiscent of the seventies.

Style Notes: Proving her love of flared jeans has been decades-long, here we see Victoria in the silhouette back in 2003.
