You Can Invite A Llama To Your Video Conference And You Absolutely Should

This is an easy business decision

Now that we’re well into the second month of Stay At Home and have had some time to settle in and adjust to this new norm, everybody’s doing what they can to inject some fun into their days stuck inside.

Those of us who have made the transition from working in an office to working from home are now extremely familiar with video conferencing apps like Zoom or Google Hangouts, and it didn’t take long for people to discover that you can add funny filters or set your background to, like, pretty much anything while you’re in a video conference. (Turning these filters off, however, has proven to be a bit of a challenge.) But if the novelty of these features is starting to wear off for you, don’t worry. There’s another, better way to take your video meetings to the next level.

You can invite a llama.

Well, hire a llama, actually. Obviously you’d have to pay the llama for taking the time out of its day.

Sweet Farm is a non-profit animal sanctuary in Silicon Valley, and although you can’t go visit the farm for some real life facetime with the animals there, you can add them to your company-wide meeting.

The farm’s campaign, called Goat 2 Meeting (farm animals and puns, literally what else could you want) includes a few different packages for all your important business needs.

Taken directly from their site, here are your options:

  • 20 minute Virtual Private Tour is a $65 donation for up to 6 people. This tour will highlight a few of our animal ambassadors and areas of the farm.
  • 10 minute Corporate Meeting Cameo is a $100 donation for unlimited guests. You send us your meeting link and we’ll call in to bring some smiles to your co-workers faces!
  • 25 Min Corporate Meeting Virtual Tour is a $250 donation for unlimited guests. You send us your meeting link and we’ll call in to show you and your co-workers around the farm!

So, whatever your company’s budget for snacks in the break room or cake for monthly birthday announcements, you can put that toward looping in some critter-cally important executives to your staff meetings. Maybe even board meetings.

There’s no way a goat in your board meeting wouldn’t make things better.
