Here at Who What Wear, we spot beauty treasures like it’s our job—because, well, it is. With a collective 37 years of experience sifting through buzzy launches, we have a knack for separating the truly stellar formulas in an oversaturated, overwhelming market, and we don’t just recommend products all willy-nilly. A serum that claims to deliver a dewy glow better make our complexions resemble a pane of glass, a volumizing mousse needs to deliver shampoo commercial-level bounce, and a crowd-pleasing perfume ought to earn at least three “You smell amazing!” compliments before we give it our editor stamps of approval. So whenever we do land on a standout, soon-to-be-viral hero? You better believe we’re singing its praises to everyone we know.
This brings me to the below list of October favorites. From a mysterious, musky fragrance to a radiant teeth-whitening kit, these are the 17 items that truly exceeded our expectations. I have zero doubt that you’ll love them just as much as we do.

Salt & Stone Ambrette & Pear Eau de Parfum

“I’ll admit it—I’ve become a bit of a perfume snob. I’ve collected bottles that have soared into the $600 range over the years, but this $96 perfume from Salt & Stone stopped me dead in my tracks (and subsequently landed itself a prime spot on my dresser table). The clean, musky scent is my perfect kind: androgynous, chic, and ever so slightly mysterious. Some people have also compared it to Le Labo’s Another 13, making it an equally incredible, yet less expensive alternative. On its own, though, it’s a stunning everyday scent that makes you smell rich and stops people mid-stride to ask what you’re wearing. Don’t be surprised when the compliments start rolling in.”
Haus Labs Sun Dipped Hydrating Bronzing Veil

“I’m the palest I’ve been in a while, which is saying something as a citydweller who only got out of Manhattan a few times this summer and lost her baby tan the minute August showed itself out. Regardless, this weightless liquid bronzer has been just the thing I needed to inject a bit more life into my fair fall complexion. The barely there color truly is a veil, as the name indicates, warming my skin like a soft wash of sunlight and feeling surprisingly hydrating on my dry skin. Safe to say this will be a staple in my daily makeup routine as the days grow colder.”
Dyson Omega Hydrating Hair Oil

“Okay, so this one’s not new—but what I’ve learned in the last month of using and recommending it is that not many people know it exists. (Which is a true shame.) Dyson’s breakthrough innovations in hair styling devices are no small feats, so it’s only right that their foray into haircare follows the same path. Lightweight and rich in nourishing lipids, this hair oil transforms dry ends into sleek strands and finishes every style with a featherlight polish. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve texted this link to a new friend over the past month, but I can promise you they hit purchase every time.”

Marc Jacobs Beauty Drawn This Way Long-Wear Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

“Lately, I’ve been wanting to let loose with my makeup and experiment with it more, like I did when I was a young beauty editor living in LA. (There’s nothing wrong with makeup minimalism, but I’m ready for a change of pace, thank you very much.) You can imagine, then, how receiving a set of colorful Marc Jacobs eyeliners felt a little like kismet. They’re smooth, creamy, and offer up to 24 hours of waterproof wear. Most of all, though, the matte, glitter, and metallic shades spark so much joy. I want to play with all of them, but right now, I love the shade Delulu, a stunning lilac duochrome. It looks gorgeous when applied to the inner corners of the eyes. A coat of fluffy mascara is the cherry on top.”
Heretic Parfums Doppelgänger Eau de Parfum

“I recently penned a long love letter to Heretic Parfums, a decidedly dark and romantic (even macabre) fine fragrance house. There are so many scents worth your highly valued time and attention, including those that are inspired by damp stone, wilting violets, and strikes of lightning. The one I keep coming back to? Doppelgänger Eau de Parfum. The German word refers to a non-related look-alike—a stranger who looks eerily similar to you. Heretic captures this unsettling sameness with barely-there citrus, soft florals, and pale wood notes. It’s beautiful and a bit ghostly.”
Danessa Myricks Glosswork 4D Ultra Shine Plumping Lip Gloss

“I’ve been obsessed with lip combos lately. Maybe it’s because I’ve been inspired by classic autumnal hues like raisin, plum, burgundy, and suede, but there are so many lipsticks, liners, glosses littering my desk right now. The one I wear almost every single day is Danessa Myricks GlossWork. It comes in a collection of stunning shades, but I’ve been wearing the transparent one, called Abundantly Clear, the most. Cushiony, not sticky, it hydrates and plumps my lips while leaving a brilliant shine behind. It’s the perfect finishing touch for all my go-to lip colors.”

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette

“It didn’t take me very long to fall head over heels with this palette. The packaging itself is stunning, and it also includes three blushes, one highlighter, a finishing powder, and a bronzer. The blushes are pigmented but not so much that it’s easy to make a mistake or apply too much, making it beginner-friendly. The highlighter is probably my favorite given how well the Topaz Glow shade complements my olive skin. This palette has easily become a staple in my routine.”
Pattern Palo Santo Fragrance Hair Mist

“I prefer earthy scents in general, so when I found out Pattern was releasing a palo santo hair mist, I was sold. It contains a mix of wild mint, petitgrain, palo santo, and sandalwood. It’s not too strong, making it a great option for people who want to give their hair a refresh between wash days. I also love how lightweight it is! It doesn’t weigh down my hair or leave a sticky feeling either.”

Westman Atelier Suprême Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation

“I’m always slow to test new foundations because I love my current one, and I am so impeccably picky that I pretty much never like new formulas I try. I’d had Westman Atelier’s new Suprême Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation in my closet for weeks, and only after hearing a few fellow editor friends wax poetic about it did I finally buck up and give it a try. And, of course, now I’m kicking myself because it is So. Good. I’m not really surprised because I have never met a Westman Atelier complexion product I haven’t liked, and the brand’s stick foundation is pretty damn divine. But, this formula is so breathtakingly lightweight and gorgeous on the skin. The serum-like consistency resembles that of a tinted moisturizer, but this formula somehow provides superior coverage while feeling like you have literally nothing on the skin. It also has amazing ingredients like encapsulated exosome technology and peptides. It’s expensive, but you’re getting way more than your average foundation here, and it’s truly the perfect hydrating and dewy addition to your routine before winter strikes.”
Supersmile Travel Whitening Kit

“I’ve been on a very deep and consistent Supersmile oral care routine for the last few months, and honestly, my teeth have never looked whiter. As someone who’s dabbled with every type of professional and at-home whitening technique, let me just say that the majority can’t live up to the hype and leave you with results that are hardly impressive. (Even the super expensive professional treatments I’d get in L.A.!) Not to mention, after years of said dabbling, my teeth are now sensitive AF, and I can rarely tolerate a new whitening system that I try at home. Enter: Supersmile. Morning and night I’ve been using the brand’s Extra-Whitening Pre-Rinse prior to brushing with the above paste and accelerator duo, followed by the classic Oral Rinse, and I swear my teeth jumped 10 shades brighter in a matter of weeks without aggravating my teeth and gums. Speaking of which, I also feel like my gums have gotten healthier while on this routine. In the past, I always felt like I had to choose between high-quality oral care or whitening results, and Supersmile is the only brand that’s ever truly delivered both, no compromises. I own the dissolving white strips and still have yet to try them, but I know they’re about to be the cherry on top of my routine.”
G.M. Collin Lip Plumping Oil

“‘Your lips look so good’ is one of my all-time favorite compliments, and, lately, this new lip plumping oil from G.M. Collin has been racking in the attention. This isn’t the type of lip plumper that intensely burns or tingles, which, as someone who’s a little bit of a masochist when it comes to at-home plumping products, surprisingly doesn’t bother me. This oil is pleasant. It glides on effortlessly with the perfect ratio of slip and grip (no stickiness here!) and simply makes my lips look better. The formula features strategic ingredients like Volulip (pink purslane extract and palmitoyl tripeptide-38), Maxi Lip, hyaluronic filling spheres, Ceramide NP, and more. Oh, and even though the oil looks like it has a mauve-y tint to it, the color pretty much disappears into the lips and ends up looking quite clear.”

Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream

“As someone with acne-prone skin, I’m very specific about the products I use, especially since my skin is extra sensitive to moisturizers. Korean skincare products tend to work best for my skin, with Dr. Althea being one of my favorite Korean brands. Dr. Althea’s 345 skincare line is my absolute holy grail for acne and always leaves my skin feeling hydrated but calm. The 345 Relief Cream is non-comedogenic and has a gel-based formula that glides right onto the skin and absorbs quickly. I can’t travel without this cream, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.”
Mediheal Teatree Wrapping Serum Face Mask

“My most used and trusted sheet mask! This product was actually my introduction to sheet masks and still serves as the most effective one I have tried. The tea tree properties are so helpful to my acne-prone skin, and I am guaranteed to wake up with calmer skin. Even though this mask really helps breakouts, it also leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and hydrated, and is the closest I have ever gotten to the glass-skin look.”
MakeItSkin Superband Hydrocolloid Bandages

“In addition to your favorite lip combo, this product is essential to have in your purse for parties and events. This hydrocolloid bandage has been a lifesaver for preventing and healing blisters. You can cut the bandages to fit exactly the area you need covered, and they blend into the skin better than any Band-Aid I’ve tried. I put them on preventively when wearing my favorite flats, which would otherwise give me blisters, and they’ve made getting through an all-day event on my feet in new heels so much more doable.”

Neuraé Harmonie the Eye Contour Cream

Listen, I do not play when it comes to eye cream. As someone with naturally sensitive, dehydrated under-eyes and dark circles since birth, treating the thin skin with a formula that simultaneously smooths, calms, and brightens—without causing irritation—is nonnegotiable. So believe me when I say that Neuraé’s new launch delivers on every promise, softening expression lines with watercress extract, depuffing with caffeine (plus a cooling metal-tip applicator), and plumping the skin with hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and plum kernel oil. I fawn over every formula from the neuroscience-inspired brand, but this might just be my favorite in the entire collection. I’ve already recommended it to my coworkers, my mom, and my group chat as a surefire sellout risk and genuinely fear the day I run out!
Joonbyrd Peace Mood Jelly

I’m no stranger to aromatherapy fragrance oils—I keep a lavender number at my desk for a moment of pause during a busy workday and a peppermint roll-on in my bag for bouts of carsickness—but none have felt like standalone perfumes I’d actually wear. Joonbyrd’s new version is the first to tick that box. The texture reminds me of those viral blush jellies from Milk Makeup, only instead of juicy pigment, they deposit the most sophisticated subtle fragrance onto your pulse points. Each of the three scents are worth adding to your fragrance wardrobe, but I’m particularly partial to Peace, which calls upon violet, vetiver, cacao, cedarwood, and orris to soothe my racing mind with every inhale.
Omi IFP-131 Hair Growth Peptides

I’m on a hair growth journey since chopping my lengths last spring, and while I’ve been making solid strides, my strands could always use a little more TLC. (After promising I’d give up color, I succumbed to some cashmere highlights for fall. Oops!) Enter this new concentrated supplement from Omi, which features one clinically-backed, patented ingredient: IFP-131 peptides. Rather than filling nutritional gaps, this peptide restores keratin proteins (aka the building blocks of hair) at the follicular level and has been shown to reduce hair shedding by 43% in 90 days. And because the formula is so simple (no biotin, minerals, or other potentially contradicting players), you can easily fold it into an existing supplement routine to enhance hair growth results. It’s also one capsule, which, as someone who notoriously falls off their supplement game, makes me way more likely to maintain the regimen. My once collarbone-length hair now grazes my chest, and I’ve experienced way less breakage around my hairline, so I’ll definitely be refilling my 30-day sample.
